Football Round Up

I don't want to talk about the Notre Dame game. The psychological wounds of history repeating itself yet again are simply too fresh.

So I'l talk about the Big XII instead. A&M beat Colorado in overtime today to advance to 6-1. This is impressive considering the complete thrashing Utah gave A&M in the first game of the season. A&M was ranked 17 today and hopefully will advance further and to a decent bowl game this year (read: not the GalaxyFurniture.Com Bowl).

I'm currently watching Texas play Texas Tech. This is hard. I've been educated to hate texas university in all of its tea-sipping awfulness. But I loathe Tech. I guess this is because at the end of the day I respect the football club in Austin. As often as they have beaten A&M, they have never attempted to throw a goal post into the visitors section. So Tech is getting its ass handed to it on a silver platter. I think I can live with that.

A bunch of Big XII girls live around the corner from me. So we were trying to configure what the Big XII "Axis of Evil" would look like. OU is on that axis without a doubt. Followed by Tech. Because Tech is evil (see above). Followed by Texas. Because I have to.

The Road to Aggie Bowl-dom involves, in some epic way, the destruction of the Axis of Evil.
Next weekend--at Baylor. Didn't we beat them 77 to 10 last year? Why does Baylor even waste money on football?
November 6--Oklahoma--at Kyle Field (home). Kyle field is one hell of a home field advantage. This should be a great game.
November 13--Tech--at home. God I hate Tech.
November 26--at Texas. Arugably the only game that matters. My freshman year A&M won the Big XII Championship by beating K-State in double overtime but had lost to a Texas team driven by the talent of Ricky Williams (where is he now, anyway?). It was a hollow victory. But maybe not this year--this could be A&M's shining year in the conference. It's about damned time.

It's not just that BC has our number.
It's that they scrawled it on the locker room wall
And wrote beneath it, "For a good time, call . . ."
